My Blog And I.

I love writing! Quite simply. I have always loved it, I spend most of my spare time writing. I Love writing about almost everything … except myself. So I’m going to do this the easy way.

Here are a few things about me and my blog …

1) In my family and friends I am lucky enough to have a patient, encouraging and captive audience, who always laugh in the right place! Most of my stories were originally written for and read by them.

2) My big ambition is to be a screenwriter. I have studied writing for film and television. I have written several screenplays and have worked as a writer and script editor on a few small projects, as well as having a couple of plays commissioned and produced.

3) I am currently studying for a degree with the Open University in English Literature and Theology.

4) I love animals (usually more than people) particularly dogs! All my animals have been included in my stories and have all been given their own complicated and elaborate backstory!

5) I really enjoy making my own films, particularly spoof documentaries and sketches.

6) I was born with a serious, complicated and rare heart condition. the details of which I feel it’s best not to dwell on, but which has been described both as “unique” and as “resembling a kitchen sink” (I’m still slightly confused about that one!). It has consistently interrupted my life and means I am continuously waiting for “clarification of my anatomy”, not really a sentence that fills me with confidence.

7) I am a huge fan of Jane Austen, particularly her early works and juvenilia. Though I think that is probably evident from the blog!

8) This blog is written entirely for fun and to give my stories and musings a slightly bigger audience.

Well for someone who doesn’t like talking about herself I’ve done quite well!
I hope you enjoy the blog!

  1. Hello Rebecca! I’ve followed your blog for some time, and I want to nominate you for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award! It is not a binding commitment for you to fulfill everything on it, but it’s my way of thanking and congratulating you for the great posts and prose you’ve posted here.

I’ll link to my post here:

  2. Hi Rebecca! Nice to meet you! 🙂
I can relate to just about everything you said in this post
except not wanting to write about yourself! I love to journal and write personal essays and memoirs. One of my personal essays was actually published recently. Here is the link:
I can definitely relate, though, to liking animals better than people (though I like people more than I used to) and writing screenplays. I am currently working on my very first screenplay. I am writing it on my own, but if made into a movie, it would be a children’s fantasy adventure film, complete with heroes and villains!
Thank you for liking “Krampus’ Challenge.” Please comment on it and tell me in more detail what you liked and didn’t like about it.
I also wanted to tell you, like I’ve been telling other people interested in my blogs, that I am in the process of merging the two blogs. I am right now taking the content of my writing blog and fairy tale blog and putting it on my new blog, which will be a basic literary blog. It will contain my writing, everything I do that relates to fairy tales (discussions, retellings, etc.), and my responses to everything else I read. Here is the web address: Right now it has only two postings from my fairy tale blog, but there will be more soon from my fairy tale blog and later my writing blog.
What I am asking everyone to do right now is follow my new blog, give me feedback on which posts from my old blogs are their favorites, and say what they’d like to see more of on my new blog. Please feel free to partake in this endeavor! The more people participate, the better idea I will have of what the first posts on my new blog should be. Thanks, and take care! 🙂
